It offers a good overview of the current state of production needs regarding a Manufacturing Execution System and the already available concepts. General information is provided and different tools are compared. Also the question is asked, whether and when the implementation of an MES makes sense|About the Author||Heiko Meyer is a professor at the University of Applied Science in Munich. He also collaborates with Gefasoft Inc., in the creation of MES software.
